Huawei has released the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow already on their devices, which are listed below . Huawei is using some custom ROMs for their smartphones, some of them are based on the AOSP while others are heavily customized. The phone operating system that they use is called Emotion UI. The Huawei P9 contains a fingerprint scanner embedded beneath the display. It is located at the back of the device, right above where the rear camera lens would be located. The scanner can be used to unlock the device or to authenticate payments by scanning your finger with your phone's built-in fingerprint reader app. The fingerprint scanner has model number "FPC100". It is a structured light 3D sensor made by Fingerprint Cards AB.The fingerprint recognition sensor embedded beneath the Huawei P9's display In the United States, Huawei previously partnered with AT&T for sales of their smartphones. In April 2018, AT&T stated that it would end its partnership with Huawei, due to a "political climate" that made continued cooperation "untenable". The reaction from AT&T was reported as being over concerns about potential Chinese government espionage through the use of their devices, an explanation which Huawei has rejected. Huawei's CEO, Ren Zhengfei, subsequently claimed that Huawei would never share their technology with the Chinese government and that the decision was a result of "U.S. pressure". In October 2018, Google reportedly planned to cut ties with Huawei due to U.S. government pressure, though this was denied by Google following reports from Bloomberg and Reuters. The US Department of Commerce threatened to add Huawei to a blacklist that would restrict its ability to purchase or use American technology in the manufacturing of its products in May 2018.. In December 2018, a report in "The Wall Street Journal" indicated that Google had come under renewed pressure from U.S. government officials and within the Trump administration to end its relationship with Huawei. Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation to provide information about the state of the investigation. On March 23, 2017, it was learned that Turkish telecommunications company TTNET has become a member of Huawei's Partner Network. Huawei's Honor brand encompasses several Android-based smartphones and tablets in various price classes under different branding. Huawei makes phones under the consumer-oriented "Nova" brand which are similar to their higher-end phones, but are sold less expensively.
